Verify and claim Blogger website with Alexa

Alexa is most popular, accurate and powerful tools to check a website's rank and its traffic.Submitting and claiming your website on Alexa doesn't only makes you official owner of the domain in the Alexa database but it also helps advertisers to approach the website with best traffic and rank to publish their content. So if your website is listed on Alexa advertisers can also easily approach you and submitting your website manually to Alexa also helps increasing the ranking of the website. So I have wrote a guide on how to claim and verify your blog with Alexa.

Step 1.1: Go to Alexa website and register a account.

Step 1.2: Register a Alexa account or login with your Facebook account.

Step 1.3: If you choose to register a Alexa account, after filling your email address and name, verify your account by logging into the email you provided and activating your account using a link in the inbox that Alexa sent to you.

Step 1.4: After your account is activated login to your account click on "+ Add a Site".

Step 1.5: Next page will ask you to choose a plan with different benefits and features. We will choose free plan as we only want to verify our website with Alexa.

Step 1.6: Enter your Blog/Site's URL.

Step 1.7: Now on he next it will ask you to prove the ownership of the website. There are two methods by which you can do this (explained on that page). First is by uploading a file to your blog/website's root directory. Second is by adding the verification code to the website/blog's template. We will choose the second option as we can't upload file to blogger's root directory unless we have a hosting plan and its easy too compared to the other method. For that select verification ID and copy it. Keep the page open don't close it yet

Step 2.1: Login to your blogger dashboard and go to "Template" tab of your blog.

Step 2.2: Click on "Edit HML".

Step 2.3: Find <head> in your blog's template code and paste the copied Alexa verification ID under or below the code and save the template

Step 2.4: Navigate to Alexa page and click on "Verify my ID". If you did everything correctly you will see a message "Your site is successfully claimed". Now you can add your Name and ownership of the website to the Alexa site.

Comment if you have any questions I will be glad to help :)
