How to change eyes and hair color in Photoshop

The feature that Photoshop is used most frequently for by non-professionals is for changing the hair-color and eye colors and most of us us wonder how its done, so we can do it with our or with our friend's photos too for fun. The task is very simple; in this tutorial I will teach you how its done.

How to change the color of Hair or eyes in Photoshop

Step 1: Open Photoshop and open the desired image that you want to edit. I have selected a model with light hair color i.e blonde. As changing hair color in Photoshop works best on light colors.

Step 2: Select the "Brush tool" from the left vertical tools bar.

Step 3: Press "Q" on you keyboard once and start brushing the are that you want to change the color of in our case hair and eyes. The brushing does not need to be exactly precise but try to be close. You can increase the brush size if the image is larger at taking time to brush the whole thing.

Step 4: After the brushing is done the image will looks like this, now  press the "Q" on your keyboard again now press Ctrl+Shift+I for inverse.

Step 5: Now create a layer of your selected area. To do that simply press Ctrl+C and then Ctrl+V (copy and paste the selected layer) and you will be able to see a new layer in the layer box in the right.

Step 6: Now to add a color to your selected layer. Go to Image>Adjustment>Variations.

Step 7: Now set the colors according to your desire by mixing different variations. When done, click OK.

Step 7: If you are satisfied with your color variation go ahead and save the image. If not you can again go to Image>Adjustment>Variations and set the color.

Step 8: Now the final step to save your editing. Click on File>Save as and save your image ans JPG.

Same goes for the eyes. If you want to change the color of eyes instead of hair. Just follow the steps above but select the eyes while brushing (obviously :p).
